Report

The first part of the tutorial required us to check out the price list of the other businesses. The task seemed simple enough, with the majority of businesses having their products established. We had also set up our price list containing the name of each service/product, a brief description and price ranges. Once we had a look at the prices, purchases within the tutorial group was first priority. As a business, we had to decide which products were necessary.

Together, we planned the following purchases:
  • Computer Equipment (5 Laptops)
  • IT Training (No products shown)
  • Gym (12 Month Group Membership for 5 people)
  • IT Security (Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware, Data Backup, Network Server Security for 1 year)
  • IT Consulting (Consultation for small business)

As shown, we have planned purchases for all the businesses within our tutorial except for IT Training, which had no price list displayed.
Another issue that occurred was that two of the businesses that had price lists had no contact details. There would be no way to start ordering from them.

Businesses seemed to accelerate slowly, still focusing on confirming what products were actually required. The decision making process of purchases took a lot of time, especially taking our limited budget in to consideration. No purchase orders were made or received.
